Bonnie Phung

"Not only does Bonnie appreciate the work she does, she appreciates her fellow employees," is how co-workers describe Bonnie Phung, our October Star Performer of the Month.

Bonnie began her career at LGH in 2003, and currently works as an inpatient Phlebotomist. In her role, she takes care of inpatient draws for the Emergency Department and Med/Surg units.

"Bonnie is so dedicated to her profession," says Helen Perron, Phlebotomy Supervisor. Her 'Patients-first' attitude is evidenced by the many calls we receive from patients asking specifically for Bonnie. Her skill level is second to none, especially with the tougher blood draws, such as young children. She never hesitates to help colleagues and share her expertise."

Bonnie is known to always present with a can-do attitude and appearance. She has an exceptional response time to STAT draws throughout the hospital.

"Bonnie's service and dedication to LGH is priceless," says Amy Desmond, Medical Technologist. "It's been years since she called out for a sick day, she always comes in when we need her, even if it's 6:30am, or her day off, she will be here within an hour. She never forgets when someone has helped her out in her time of need, and she repays the favor tenfold."

Bonnie lives in Woburn with her son Bobby and daughter Lily. In her spare time, she enjoys listening to music, reading, knitting, and crocheting.
