Nicole Beaumier"Her warm personality, can-do attitude, and calming demeanor make her a pleasure to work with and an asset to the ICU team," describes Nicole Beaumier, our December Star Performer of the Month.

Nicole began her career at LGH in 2003 as a CNA on IMC, and has worked for the past five years as a Clerk Aide on the ICU. In her role, she enters all physician orders, handles staffing calls for nurses and physicians, assists with patient care when needed, documents Performance Improvement initiatives, answers the phone, and maintains patient charts. She is known for her gentle manner and superior communication skills.

"Staff appreciate Nicole's technical knowledge with ELMER, as well as experience with reading physician orders, and knowing just who to call if something is needed." says Valerie Fernald, RN, Clinical Manager, ICU. "Nicole's 'can-do attitude' helps keep everyone focused, and to keep things in perspective on the very busy days. She is always willing to take on a project to help the unit when her work is done."

The ICU is a very busy unit, where staff care for some of the most critical patients. She takes care to establish good rapport with all the physicians that come into the ICU and communicates clearly and positively. Whether it is on the phone, via e-mail or face-to-face - always making the person she's speaking with feel at ease. She takes the time to have a nice conversation with staff, even when making a quick call to find coverage for a shift.

Nicole lives in Lowell with her two children Lilianna, 5, Kyle, 3, cat Sammy, and dog Bella. Outside of work she loves to read, participate in craft making, and spend time with her kids. Her involvement also extends to the community, as she currently serves as Chairperson for the Parent Policy Council for the Head Start program at Community Teamwork Incorporated.
