Medical Surgical Unit - Nurse's Aide (1 year)
"It's about helping people."
When you ask Jay what his favorite kind of workday is like he'll tell you it's when the pace is at its busiest. Knowing that there are many things to do, that his help is needed, and working across the patient care team is the best kind of day.
The nurse's aide on the medical-surgical floor of Lowell General Hospital brings compassion and concern to all. Whether pulling up a chair to talk with a worried patient, answering a call light or helping a co-worker, Jay gives his attention to each as if it is the most important thing.
What motivates him to have such care and concern? Jay explains "I enjoy going to work every day, taking care of patients and knowing that I'm helping my fellow employees to do that. I really feel like I am making a difference for people."
Jay is part of a team of 1,900 people all committed to the mission of "Patients First in Everything We Do". With everyone working towards the same goal it is easy to see how individual efforts make a difference.
From simple things like helping a patient get more comfortable to aiding a nurse with patient care, every opportunity to help makes a difference. Lowell General Hospital is proud to have a compassionate and caring staff with people like Jay.
