Star Performer, Pam Boucher"When we're ‘under the gun' Pam sets the pace," is what co-workers say about Pam Boucher, our April Star Performer of the Month.

Pam, an LGH employee for 32 years, is known for her expertise and strong mentoring skills within the Radiology Department. She has served in many different capacities in her career, from receptionist, to secretary, and currently as Medical Transcriptionist.

"I've seen a lot of advancements in technology over the years," says Pam. "When I started at LGH, we had manual typewriters, only one Radiologist, and no Cat Scans (CTs). I'm thrilled to be a part of the hospital's growth and a member of the LGH family."

Pam's co-workers are grateful for her extensive knowledge in regards to words, phrases, diagnoses, and diseases. Her cheerful demeanor, together with her sense of humor, always keeps the department's morale upbeat in the most stressful of times. She shows commitment to her team every day, by sharing her job knowledge with anyone needing help, which is extremely important in the intense transcriptionist environment.

"We have to concentrate with intensity when transcribing, as missing just one word could change the outcome of a report," says co-worker Kathleen O'Donohue. "Pam will always answer any questions, and strives to put her best foot forward every day.

"Pam's expertise has helped the department grow and develop. She has a strong sense of pride in her position, her department, and her commitment to the field of Radiology," says Judy Erbstein, Director of Imaging Services.

Pam resides in Dracut, MA with her husband Roy and two daughters. She spends much of her time watching her daughter's high school championship cheerleading competitions, and in the summer enjoys boating and fishing. She is especially proud of her new six-week old granddaughter, Olivia.
