Amanda McLellan“Amanda is never without that trademark friendly smile,” is how co-workers describe the caring and upbeat personality of Amanda McLellan, our May Star Performer of the Month.
 
Amanda began her career at LGH in 2004. As unit secretary on MP3, she is responsible for welcoming visitors and families, answering phone calls, transcribing orders, and maintaining charts. She shares her love for healthcare and LGH with her family, as her mom Linda, also a Star Performer, is the charge nurse on MP3, her aunt Sandy Lernard (formerly Sandy Betty) works in the Continuity of Care Unit, and her cousin Nicole Betty works in the Patient Service Center.
 
“Amanda is a Star Performer because she is a team player - she helps all her colleagues whenever needed. She always goes above and beyond to make nurses, doctors, and her fellow secretaries’ lives easier,” says Robin Collins, RN, Clinical Manager of MP3.
 
Amanda’s commitment to coworkers is evident in her eagerness to help anyone, anywhere, at any time. She frequently offers to deliver messages, help empty and clean rooms on busy days, stays late whenever needed, and helps all level of staff to make sure patients are put first. “Amanda is the glue that keeps this unit together,” says Scott Sirois, RN, MP3. “With all her responsibilities, she still goes out of her way to assist patients and their families, and is committed to the culture and service of LGH.”
 
Amanda lives in Lowell with her three-year-old son Jesus, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoys cross-country skiing and kayaking.
