Heart-Healthy Workplace

2011 Fit Friendly logoLowell General Hospital is committed to providing physical activities and wellness opportunities to our employees. We were recognized for the third year as a GOLD Level Recipient of the American Heart Association's Start! Fit-Friendly Companies Recognition program.

We achieved this level of commendation for 2011 through the hospital's offering physical activity support to our Lowell General Hospital team, increasing healthy eating options, promoting a wellness culture, and implement- ing a number of initiatives around physical activity, nutrition and a healthy environment during and outside of the work day.

Many of us are incorporating more exercise and healthy living choices into our workday as well as at home. Our employees can access the variety of healthy employee initiatives via our hospital intranet as well as take part in the many programs offered through the Center for Health & Wellness.

Since even small changes can make a difference in our health, we can all practice what we preach and be proud that we are taking responsibility for our own health and wellness!
