Stacey Villare

Surgical Services - Orthopedic Service Leader and Surgical Nurse (6 years)

"There are many opportunities to learn new things and make things better for our patients and staff. We really have a chance to be involved in positive changes that enhance our professional skills and patient care."

Stacey Villare G100Stacey Villare is more than a surgical nurse in the Operating Room at Lowell General Hospital - she is a teacher, a technology wiz, and agent for change, as well as a caregiver.

As a nurse, she excels in patient care and has developed her skills in the specialized field of orthopedics. She shares that expertise to ensure the surgeons and staff have what's needed to perform the continually advancing procedures in the OR.

But she's also a lead informatics user who trains colleagues on the electronic medical records and clinical information systems. She sees how it makes a difference in enabling physicians and nurses to quickly and appropriately meet a patient's needs.

Stacey also sees the impact of things for the bigger picture. Her interest in bringing recycling practices to the OR has helped the hospital's efforts to be more environmentally friendly.

Nursing is about making things better. Stacey makes things better at Lowell General Hospital.
