Nursing at Lowell General Hospital
Message from our CNO
At Lowell General Hospital, we have a proud and long standing tradition of nursing excellence. From the opening of the Lowell General Hospital Training Schools for Nurses in 1983 to being awarded Magnet Recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 2010, Lowell General has earned a strong and well-deserved reputation for exceptional nursing care. I have been privileged to be part of this tradition for the past 15 years.
As a Magnet designated organization our nurses have been at the forefront of advances in patient care and our family-centered quality caring model. We have created a structure of shared governance councils and decision-making that empowers us to take pride in our contributions throughout the organization.
Our nurses continue to be among the most highly-trained and well-regarded in the region. Our patient care team feels a sense of respect, empowerment and appreciation. This feeling of engagement has created a collaborative workplace and culture where employees are passionate about our mission to put patients first in everything we do. Lowell General has earned accolades at both the regional and national level as a best place to work. Beyond patient care, we have been involved in interdisciplinary collaboration to improve protocols and embrace technology to transform the way we deliver care to our patients.
